Arizona Ready is a partnership dedicated to bringing about a future where all Arizona students are prepared to succeed in college and careers and lead this state in the next 100 years and beyond.
Every day, our state competes against other states – and other nations – for jobs, economic growth and opportunities for our citizens. As a result, we have an urgent need to prepare our students to be leaders in a new economy that highly values advanced knowledge and skills.
We will construct the future we seek on four Building Blocks:
- Standards for all students & assessments for all teachers
- Effective use of data to track student, teacher and school progress
- Great teachers & leaders to make it happen
- Support for struggling schools so that all may succeed
We are already putting into place a new support system for our schools:
- Regional Centers to provide development and technical expertise so every school can succeed
- Focus on 21stCentury skills: Science, technology, engineering, math (STEM)
- Partnerships with Arizona colleges and universities to prepare the number and kinds of teachers we need
