FAQs

What is Arizona Ready?

Arizona Ready is a partnership dedicated to bringing about a future where all Arizona students are prepared to succeed in college and careers and lead this state in the next 100 years and beyond.

Why was it created?

Arizona Ready was created to meet the needs of students, teachers, administrators and public schools as our state competes for jobs, economic growth and opportunities for our citizens.

This competition comes not just from other states, but from other nations, and we have an urgent need to prepare our students to be leaders in a new economy that highly values advanced knowledge and skills.

Who is behind it?

Gov. Jan Brewer inspired the creation of the organization, and its core principles and goals are taken from her Arizona Education Reform Plan, which she released in January 2011.

What does it propose to do?

Arizona Ready is committed to transforming our state’s public schools from pre-school through grad school into centers of excellence where all Arizona students are prepared to succeed in college and careers.
